- — Yumea
Yumea Antiqua (Japanese: ユミア エンシェント, Yumia Enshento; English dub: /juːˈmeɪə ˈæntᵻkwə/) is a character in Xenoblade Chronicles. She is the First Consort, and one of the wives of the High Entia Emperor Sorean Antiqua. She is also Kallian and Tyrea's mother (although the latter is secret, as Tyrea's father is not the Emperor) while Melia's mother was a Homs. She bears a silent hatred of Melia that only grows more intense when Sorean chooses Melia to be his successor instead of Kallian, even though Kallian encouraged the choice himself.
Alcamoth
Yumea appears when the party meets the Emperor. She is barely capable to contain her feelings of disgust towards Melia and her Homs companions, and suggests to the Emperor that Melia should brave the dangers of the High Entia Tomb. While this ritual has not been used in centuries because of its dangers, she argues that her success would give Melia the approval of her people. Sorean eventually accepts. Yumea is seen giving orders to Tyrea to assassinate Melia.
After the assassination plan fails and Yumea is exposed as the instigator, it is revealed that she belongs to the Bionite Order, a religious sect that worships Bionis and was dissolved many centuries past because of their zeal in their actions. Yumea also did not like the system of two consorts of different race, which explains her hatred of Melia. Yumea is kept in arrest and the party does not see her again during their stay in Alcamoth. Melia is upset by this, as she saw the First Consort as her mother.
Telethia

After the party goes off in search of Tyrea, they find a Telethia in Makna Forest. Thinking it is Tyrea, they defeat it and prepare to finish it off when Tyrea arrives at the scene, revealing that it is actually Yumea in Telethia form. She says that Yumea knew of what would happen, and she chose to accept her fate, ordering Tyrea to kill her. Melia takes this responsibility from Tyrea, however, and destroys Yumea with an overexposure to her ether.
Afterwards a NPC named Yumea's Maid can be found by the entrance to Junks, by the two Junks merchants, when it is parked in Colony 6. This NPC can give additional insight to Yumea's character when spoken to. For whatever reason, this NPC is also present as one of the gossiping NPC group during a vision of the future for Lifespan of a Machina.
Trivia
- Yumea's Japanese voice actress, Asako Sato, also voices Linada.
