Growth Army

The Ganglion (Japanese: グロウス, Gurousu, Growth; English dub: /ˈɡæŋ.ɡli.ən/ or /ˈɡæŋ.li.ən/) is a hostile coalition of different alien races in Xenoblade Chronicles X. This coalition serves as the game's antagonistic force during the storyline. The alliance is a crime syndicate composed of various races originating from the Samaar Federation, founded and headed by the Ganglion. They are trying to wipe out the human race from existence, believing it is their destiny to do so. The Ganglion went to war with another alien race, having a battle above Earth and exterminating humans on the planet below, eventually destroying the planet once humans were evacuated using Ark Ships. They did not return from the battle, but were engulfed by a mysterious light and involuntarily transported to Mira.

Over the two years prior to the White Whale crashing on Mira, the Ganglion set up numerous outposts across the continents. Their main fortress is located in Cauldros.

"A criminal syndicate made up of a number of different xenoforms. With Luxaar their appointed Grandmaster, their tyranny knows no limits, seeking not just to erase humanity from existence, but also to subjugate other races and force them into servitude."

Trivia

  • The Ganglion and the Prone are referenced in Chapter 1 of Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony, where after Kaede Akamatsu mistakenly says "Prone" inside of "drone", Tsumugi Shirogane corrects her, saying that "If it was a Prone, it'd team up with the rest of the Ganglion alliance to destroy humanity."[1]
