Microsoft has released four generations of the Xbox since its first console in 2001.

1. Xbox (released 2001, discontinued 2006)
2. Xbox 360 (released 2005, discontinued 2016)
3. Xbox One (released 2013, discontinued 2020)
4. Xbox Gen 9 (Xbox Series X/Series S) (released 2020)

Microsoft has also developed consoles that were later scrapped or cancelled:

• Xbox Prototype (circa 2000)
• Xbox Watch (circa 2013)
