Walter Chaco

Colonel Walter Chaco (played by John Milford) was the founder of Chaco Chicken and the leader of cannibalistic cult based in Dudley, Arkansas. In 1944, while serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, was on a transport plane when it was shot down over New Guinea. The only survivor of the crash, he was exposed to local cannibals of the Jale tribe, living among them and adopting their customs for the duration of six months. Upon his return to the United States, he founded the company and began a secret cannibalistic cult in Dudley that used the company as a front. Mulder figured out that Chaco was behind a series of disappearances upon discovering a case full of human heads in Chaco's mansion.

The cult targeted outsiders from beyond their community, typically new arrivals or travellers from the nearby I-10, which seemed to combined with the rituals he learned from the Jale tribe which somehow prolonged their lives and gave them youth, but when they ate a man infected with a rare disease, many began turning ill, including his own granddaughter Paula, who had to be gunned down during a hostage situation at the processing plant while in a maddened state. That's when many of the cultists decided it was too dangerous to bring in more outsiders and instead used one of their own. Walter objected to this course of action and his own followers, lead by Jess Harold, turned on him and decapitated by Sheriff Tom Arens. Later research into his background revealed that Chaco was 93 years old at the time of his death, despite bearing the appearance of a well-kept man in his 60's. His body was never found, on account of his treacherous followers disposing of it in a meat grinder at the factory, the remains being used as chicken fodder.
