Kim Ji-yeon (Hangul: 김지연), better known as Bona (보나), was born on August 19, 1995 (age 29) in Daegu, South Korea. She is the lead dancer, sub-vocalist, sub-rapper[citation needed] and visual[citation needed] of the South Korean girl group WJSN and is a member of its Wonder Unit.[1] Bona is also part of the most recent sub-unit WJSN THE BLACK. She made her acting debut in 2017 in the KBS2 drama Hit the Top.[5][6]
History
Before joining Starship Entertainment, Bona was a trainee under Cube Entertainment and trained with them for six years. She joined Starship Entertainment in 2015. She was revealed to be a member of WJSN and its Wonder Unit on December 15, 2015 and proceeded to debut with them on February 25, 2016 with their debut mini-album Would You Like? and the single "MoMoMo".[3][7] On December 21, she took part in a cover of Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" along with SeolA, EXY, Eunseo, Cheng Xiao, Mei Qi and Dayoung.[8]
In 2017, she made her acting debut in the KBS2 drama Hit the Top, and was cast as the female lead in the teen drama Girls' Generation 1979.[9]
In 2020, Bona joined the KBS drama Homemade Love Story and earned Bona a Best new actress award. From the awards ceremony KBS Drama Awards.[10]
In June 2021, Bona is confirmed to star in the tvN drama Twenty-Five Twenty-One with Kim Tae-ri and Nam Joo-hyuk, which premiered in February 2022.[11]
