The first uniblades were designed by the Eldan for their Mechari servants^[1]. Over time, the originals were supplanted by those manufactured on Cassus. Though somewhat bulkier than the original Eldan models, which featured a single blade-like wheel in the front (hence the name), Cassian-crafted uniblades retain their sleek silhouettes if not their light weight and technological superiority.

Even though the uniblade was designed with the Mechari in mind, young highborn Cassians enjoy riding them, too. This has led to the formation of several highborn uniblade clubs, some of which have gained a reputation for rabble rousing and terrorizing the lowborn. Despite these negative connotations, uniblades remain a status symbol for those Cassians wealthy enough to afford them.
