Daileee

Daileee (데일리) is the official fanclub of the South Korean girl group Weeekly. The name was revealed on August 21, 2020.

Etymology

The name means that, without Daileee, there wouldn't be Weeekly, since days make up a week.

Before the official announcement, the fan club name contest was held on July 13 to August 2, 2020, The final voting for the fan club name was held from August 6 to 20, 2020.
The fan club name candidates are as follows.
- Daileee (데일리): Without Daileee (Daily), Weeekly cannot exist. It means that every day (Daileee) are needed to complete the week (Weeekly). The pronunciation is the same as Daily, but the notation was changed to Daileee by borrowing Weeekly's group notation.
- HARU (하루): Always Hope to be ARound yoU, which means every day, fans always say, “I hope to always be by your side”. The English sentence is abbreviated and expressed as HARU. As the members are assigned to a planet, “Fans are always around Weeekly”. It can also be interpreted as “Fans are always by Weeekly’s side”.
- YOIL (요일): You are the only One I Love, in Korean it means ‘day of the week’, as the members represent each day of the week. YOIL can be written in English capital letters, and can be used as a special abbreviation between Weeekly and fans.
- Today (투데이): After completing the week is a new and special today, it means that the Weeekly and the fans cannot be separated.
Although it competed fiercely with candidate, HARU, Daileee was decided as the fandom name.
