The Reunion

The Reunion is the twenty-second episode of Season 2 of Walker, Texas Ranger. It's a special two-hour episode that premiered on Saturday, May 14, 1994.

Summary

There's a reunion of former Texas Rangers and there's a shooting competition with cops from all over the country coming to take part in. An old friend of Alex's, a Senator who is rumored to be running for President is also in town. A retired Ranger and friend of Walker's is also in town and is looking for a man whom he believes is involved in the killing of a cop in another city. When Walker learns of this, he thinks the man is some kind of Black cop who faked his death is now a gun for hire. The group whom he is with is in town to do a job and the one in charge killed a cop who was coming for the competition and assumed his identity. Eventually, they learn that they're in town to kill the Senator.

  • This was filmed as the season finale (a two-hour movie special), but aired before "Stolen Lullaby", which ran the following week. Had the show been canceled at this point because of excessive violence (a major concern in 1994), William Princewould have been the villain in a series finale for the third time (after Starsky and Hutch (1975) and Search for Tomorrow (1951).)
  • Stuart Whitman was hired at the last minute to play the guest lead when Willie Nelson backed out because of a tour opportunity.
  • Clarence Gilyard previously worked with R.G. Armstrong on Matlock (1986).
