Tom Nook is a tanuki businessman from the Animal Crossing series. He is the owner of the town or island's main shop, as well as the player's main source of income.
In Mayor Vine, Tom Nook is an adjutant to Vine's leadership of Da Burbs. He also operates a salt mine populated by slaves. In Vinny's playthrough of New Horizons, Tom Nook is the Supreme Leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Dawn Island, where he rules the island with an iron fist.
In Joel's playthrough of New Horizon, Nook is nicknamed Tooki Nooki, based on the Portuguese pronunciation of Duke Nukem. He speaks in Duke's voice and has "bells of steel".
