Shawjamon is an Ultimate Digimon that serves as a minor antagonist in the anime Digimon Ghost Game.
He is voiced by Hiroaki Hirata (who also voices several other Digimon villains, such as Matadormon from Digimon Fusion) in Japanese.
Appearance
Shawjamon is an Ultimate Digimon that resembles a Gappa, who wears a Chinese-style armor and holds a metal staff as a weapon. It was said to be banished from the heavens of the Digital World, and has a calm personality. If one of the beads of his necklace was lost, it will turn into a savage Digimon again.
Biography
Shawjamon, along with his underlings, three Gwappamon, resides in a lake in the human world. But they got sick due to river pollution coming out from a broken pipe that connects to a factory. Shawjamon's necklace showed signs of fracture, and he showed symptoms of being savage. Ruli encounters the three Gwappamon when she was strolling around the lake at night, but Gwappamon tries to hide her from the clutches of their leader, to prevent her being eaten. The Gwappamon later throws back Ruli to her friends, and tells them to never come back to the river again. The following day, the lake was full of visitors, but Shawjamon ambushes one of the visitors beneath the lake, to save him, Ruli turns the battlefield to the Digital World. Shawjamon emerges from the lake after he noticed that his prey disappears, and battles the main protagonists. Angoramon Digivolves to SymbareAngoramon but was knocked out by ease, Gammamon later Warp Digivolves to Canoweissmon and battled Shawjamon under the lake but the battle delayed too much time, and caused Canoweissmon to revert to Gammamon, meanwhile Gwappamon tells that their leader was a righteous Digimon and how they showed symptoms of coughing. The three underlings wants to negotiate the leader, but were knocked out. When Shawjamon is about to kill Ruli, Angoramon Warp Digivolves to Lamortmon and battled Shawjamon, Shawjamon drags Lamortmon underwater, but Lamortmon still strives to fight back Shawjamon while he says that he will protect Ruli by any means. Lamortmon later uses his newly-unlocked "Great Grudge Killer” and severely wounds Shawjamon, but Ruli stops him when he was almost about to kill Shawjamon. Thetismon then cures Shawjamon and his underlings, and Shawjamon apologizes to the main protagonists and decides to move to a distant place to live. After the factory has been received an indictment, they will be ensure that no future pollutions will be made.

Trivia
- Shawjamon is a Digimon version of Sha Wujing, a major protagonist in the 16th century Chinese classic novel Journey to the West.
- According to the Digimon Reference Book, it is said that Shawjamon’s Digicore is sealed among the nine beads on its necklace. If one of the beads is lost, it will be transformed into a terrifying Digimon.
- Also in Digimon Ghost Game, as a bead on Shawjamon’s necklace is cracked, it will become a savage Digimon. If two or three beads are cracked, it will become more violent and dangerous.
