Quillgin is the main antagonist of the Regular Show Christmas Special. He was a former scientist at Santa Claus' toy factory who later betrayed him, becoming Santa's arch-enemy and tried to destroy Christmas for ruining his life's work. Quillgin originally designed the best gift of all, which could give the person who opened it whatever they wanted, but it turned out to be dangerous due to the usage of dark magic in its creation.
He was voiced by Thomas Haden Church, who also played Roach in Tales from the Crypt Presents Demon Knight, Lyle Van de Groot in the George of the Jungle duology, Killer Moth in Teen Titans, Dwayne LaFontant in Over the Hedge, the Sandman in Spider-Man 3 and Spider-Man: No Way Home and Tal Hajus in John Carter.
Biography
Past
Quillgin was once the lead toy designer for Santa's workshop. He also had a dream of creating the perfect present: a box that when opened will magically materialize whatever the holder wanted, which he had worked his whole life to make. His plan was to create a box for each person in the world so that they would never have to fight over anything again. However, in order to complete his project, Quillgin resorted to using dark magic, making it dangerous and indestructible.
One day, Quillgin informed Santa of his project, and they both then tested it on a simple family. But upon opening the box, the individuals looking into it suddenly turned selfish and violent as their worst impulses were brought out by it's glow. Santa deemed the project a failiure and had the box sealed in a vault. He also had all of Quillgin's research destroyed by a hazmat team to prevent it from ever being recreated. Quillgin tried to stop them, but Santa prevented him from interfearing and likely fired him as well. As a result, Quillgin gained an immense hatred for Santa for destroying his life's work and vowed revenge.
Present
A few months later on the night of Christmas Eve, Quillgin assaulted the Toy Hangar and stole back the box in order to use it to destroy Christmas forever. He stole Santa's Sled as a mode of transport and made his escape, but Santa caught up to him on a hoverboard and attempted to take the box from him. Quillgin shot Santa with his gun and knocked him off the sleigh, but before he fell Santa took the present with him.
After he discovered that Mordecai, Rigby and the other employees of the Park had his present and were going to East Pine to throw it in their lava pit to destroy it, Quillgin and his henchmen infiltrated East Pines and attacked Gene's Forest Rangers. Wanting to save Christmas so he could celebrate it with his wife and son, Gene helped buy the Park's employees time and led them to the Cave where the lava pit was. However, Quillgin and his henchmen made it past the guards and followed the Park crew into the cave. They attacked the Park's employees on the ice bridge as Benson was playing a pin ball machine to create it, but Benson deliberately lost the game and caused Quillgin's henchmen to fall off.
However, Quillgin found an emergency staircase and used it to reach the Park's employees as they made it to the pit. He threatened to kill them if they didn't give him the present. It was then that Santa himself appeared, riding in on his hoverboard, and wrestled Quillgin's gun away from him before revealing he used a bulletproof vest to survive Quillgin's gunshots. Not ready to give up, Quillgin threw a grenade at Santa and the Park employees before taking the box back from him. He then used it to create bombs on every piece of Christmas decorum, as well as everyone celebrating Christmas, planning to blow all of them up in order to destroy Christmas. Before he could press the detonator to the bombs however, Mordecai decided to sacrifice himself by tackling Quillgin into the lava pit.
Rigby then jumped into the pit himself in order to save his friend. When Rigby reached Mordecai and Quillgin, he fought with Quillgin over the box and managed to pass it to Mordecai. Mordecai used the present to wish for a flying double skate board, that he and Rigby used to fly out of the pit. Quillgin then tried to reach his creation to finally destroy the Christmas but ended up falling into the lava before he could do so and meeting his demise.
