Konkichi (コンキチ Konkichi) is a minor anime-only character in Dragon Ball. He was a poor person who stealed only to survive and because he was pressed by other thugs to rob.
He was voiced in Japanese by Noriko Tsukase and in English by Chris Cason in the Funimation dub and by Leah Dubbin-Steckel in the Blue Water dub.
Biography
Dragon Ball
Konkichi was getting beat up by three thugs when he was saved by Goku. Then Konkichi became his friend and decided to help hinm to get a plane ticket for the Papaya Island. Konkichi tried to steal it from other people but failed, so they decided to get some money in the carnival. There Konkichi gives a candy to a child that lost his baloon, making him feel better. After Goku got money in one of the games. The thigs found Konkichi and forced him to rob a bank. There Konkichi was captured by the police, so Goku larned from his past and Konkichi confess that he regrets his actions and wants to change. Goku, with the help of Fortunetellet Baba, finds and defeats the thugs, recovering the money. After this, the boy from before wants to play with Konkichi and he decides to become a teacher.
Dragon Ball Z
At some point, Konkichi had an accident and was hospitalized. He is briefly seen when Goku was hospitalized too after the battle against the Saiyans.
