Guzzlord

It has gobbled mountains and swallowed whole buildings, according to reports. It's one of the Ultra Beasts.
~ The Pokédex in Pokémon Sun on Guzzlord.

Guzzlord, also known as the Junkivore Pokémon, are one of the various evil Pokémon in the series of the same name. They are one of the Ultra Beasts from another dimension, and are known for their endless hunger and the possible destruction of the Ultra Ruins.

Behavior

Guzzlord is said to be a Pokémon that eats anything it comes across, and has reported to have devoured cities and landscapes whole. This makes them extremely dangerous, as they do not differentiate between food and living people, although whether all Guzzlord are mindless devourers or malicious predators is a debate in itself. Guzzlord's droppings are never found, so it's speculated that everything they eat is converted into complete energy, with no waste products left behind. This might explain Guzzlord's constant hunger and their sole desire to devour everything in their path.

The anime presents Guzzlord as somewhat more predatory towards living beings, as the Guzzlord in SM100 immediately attacked and tried to eat Ash and Pikachu as soon as it detected their presence.

Biography

Video games

Pokémon Sun/Pokémon Moon

Before the events of the game, a Guzzlord who Looker and an unnamed follower were tracking managed to kill the follower because Looker was caught off guard and pitied it. During the events of the game, Guzzlord was one of the Ultra Beasts who entered Alola. Out of fear that it may wreak havoc in Alola, Looker sent the player to track Guzzlord down and catch it. The player eventually found Guzzlord in the Resolution Cave and successfully caught it and added it to their Pokédex.

Pokémon Ultra Sun/Pokémon Ultra Moon

In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon, a Guzzlord (affectionately nicknamed "Mr. Glutton" by a lone survivor) can be found by accessing the Ultra Wormholes. It is found in a parallel universe known as the Ultra Ruin, which is set in a crumbling Hau'oli City after an unknown disaster forced humanity to escape into the cosmos. There, it can be caught by the player and be added to their Pokédex.

Anime

Guzzlord first appears in "Battling the Beast Within!", where it appeared in the Ultra Ruin. It first attacked Ash and Pikachu before Dia and Zeraora drove it off. Dia reveals to Ash that Guzzlord was the one responsible for the destruction of his homeworld. In "Parallel Friendships!", Guzzlord returns for vengeance and nearly manages to defeat Pikachu and Zeraora, but is defeated by them when Tapu Koko makes it possible for Z-Moves to be used in the Ultra Ruin. They sent it back to its domain through the Ultra Wormhole it came out of.

Guzzlord appears at the end of "Enter the Champion!" and in "Z-Move Showdown!" where it attacks the Manalo Stadium. After a tough battle, the guardian deities are able to restrain it, allowing the Kahunas to defeat it with Z-Moves before sending it through an Ultra Wormhole.

Later on in "Z-Move Showdown!", a shiny Guzzlord emerges from another Ultra Wormhole, only to be quickly defeated by Hau and Gladion with their Z-Moves. Suddenly, a giant Shiny Guzzlord appears and attacks Ash and Professor Kukui. Pikachu and Kukui's Lucario were easily overpowered, until Ash's Poipole, having evolved into Naganadel, distracts Guzzlord, allowing Pikachu and Lucario to use two simultaneous Gigavolt Havocs to defeat the giant before sending it through Naganadel's Ultra Wormhole.
