Flurious is a selfish and temperamental ice-themed warrior that leads his own army of ice warriors and serves as one of the four main antagonists of Power Rangers Operation Overdrive (alongside Moltor, Kamdor and Mig). He is a ruthless and cruel warrior who seeks to find the Corona Aurora to conquer the world and is the archenemy of Mack Hartford, the Red Overdrive Ranger.
He is played by Gerald Urguhart in his only on-screen role for the Power Rangers franchise. He later voiced Datum also in Overdrive, Rantipede in Power Rangers Jungle Fury, Doubletone in Power Rangers Samurai and Iceage in Power Rangers Dino Charge and Power Rangers Dino Super Charge.
Biography
Past
Little is known about Flurious' past but he was once a human born on a distant planet in the universe. According to Flurious himself, when he and Moltor were children, Flurious once said that he broke Moltor's little red sled, much to his brother's dismay. Along with Moltor, he attempted to use the Corona Aurora's powers for evil means. By the time he reached the crown, Flurious was transformed into an ice-based creature and trapped within a distant, frozen planet.
Operation Overdrive
First Act and Encounter with the Rangers
In 2007 however, Andrew Hartford finds the Corona Aurora which breaks the seal placed on Flurious and Moltor so they return to Earth, takes Norg the yeti's den as his hideout and enslaves the yeti as his servant. Flurious notice that the rangers were also after the jewels and the Corona Aurora, so he sends his Chillers to stop them. After Moltor's failure to destroy the rangers, Flurious tells his brother to hand him over the crown, but Moltor refuses to give it to him, Flurious and Moltor fight each other after the disagreement.
Flurious is annoyed over Moltor having the crown, but it's useless without the jewels. He tries multiple times to make Norg either be useful or make him leave, but with no luck. Flurious encounters the Rangers and his Chillers were later defeated, but Flurious unleashed a massive monster to stomp them. The Rangers manages to destroy the monster, Flurious is unhappy about this and walks away.
Continuous Battle with the Rangers
At one point, Flurious goes to Moltor's base, suggesting that with Miratrix and Kamdor also now searching for the jewels, it is time for the two brothers to put their differences aside and work together. They manage to beat the Drivemax Megazord with Dragonizer and Moltor's Zord capture Mack in the process. However, Mack uses their own suspicions and past issues to set them against each other, and at the end Flurious and Moltor blame each other for the failure their plan, Flurious walks away alongside Norg and tells him that he's glad he broke Moltor's red sled. Moltor overheard him and they start fighting each other once more.
Flurious is watching the Rangers battle against Miratrix and Kamdor in the screen, Flurious is very pleased by it whether the Rangers will be destroyed, or will be exhausted, he will destroy them all for himself. Flurious along with his Chillers attempted to steal Thor's hammer, but Thor uses his hammer and destroyed the Chillers. Flurious then decided to retreat and warning them that once he has the jewels of the Corona Aurora, they will soon see who's more powerful.
Norg is sitting on Flurious's throne, relaxing himself when Flurious standing next to him wondering why is he sitting there, he then becomes angry on Norg and blast him and Norg notice he is not appreciated so he leaves hoping that Flurious will miss him. Later after Norg left Moltor's volcano, Flurious is sitting on his throne as Norg eagerly walks up to him and asks Flurious if he missed him, Flurious gets up from his throne and yells at Norg for asking such a foolish question for thinking that he have missed him. Later, Flurious is angry and complains that the Power Rangers have two jewels, Miratrix and Kamdor have one jewel, and his brother Moltor has the crown, then ask Norg what does he have, Norg points out that he has him and his snowman, Clarence, Flurious destroys the snowman shortly after and tells him that he has nothing.
Forming Alliances
Flurious is one of the least active villains, and has the least success as a result. He originally tends to not search for the jewels, and just wait for Moltor to find them so he can steal them. However, with the Fearcats emergence, his way of thinking soon changes. He briefly attempts to work with other villains when he brings back the Fearcats as cyborgs with his Gyro technology, intending for them to work for him. Flurious intends to find the Cannon of Ki Amuk, Kamdor enters to his ice den and wants to form an alliance with him, Flurious agrees and teams up with Kamdor to find the Cannon of Ki Amuk. Later in his operation base, Flurious is ready to be the pilot of his giant robot to take the Cannon of Ki Amuk for himself, but suddenly the Fearcats starts up the robot and steal it from him, leaving Flurious enraged with their betrayal. Kamdor and Flurious fall out over whose fault it is, as these two were about to fight, the Fearcats appear in the ice den and tells Flurious they take orders from no one, all four villains battled each other as a result in the end.
Flurious was invited and joins Thrax's Evil Alliance with the other villains against the Rangers and combines his evil energy with the other villains to cut off the Overdrive Rangers connection to the Morphin Grid. Elsewhere after the Overdrive Rangers' defeat, Flurious has his Chillers set up a huge road block, so nobody will be able to disturbed him while he searches for the jewels of the Corona Aurora, however, five Veteran Rangers shows up to stop him by the names of: Adam, Xander, Kira, Bridge, and Tori. They defeated the Chillers and Flurious immediately retreats in anger. Flurious storms into Thrax' lair and he tells him that he may have kept his promise to get rid of the Operation Overdrive team, but more Rangers are popping up. Flurious and the rest of the other villains aren't happy of what is going on to their plans, Miratrix wanted to know where Thrax was, Flurious commented that he had his Chillers following the new Rangers, but perhaps he should have them following Thrax. In the city, Flurious along with the Evil Alliance found Vulturus on the ground, Thrax is upset and that he was supposed to be invincible, Flurious tells him he has found one thing that he learns with the Rangers, it is always good to have a plan B, he plants one of his Gyros inside Vulturus to enhanced him into a more powerful form. As the Overdrive Rangers get their powers back, the two teams team up to defeat the evil alliance once and for all; Flurious fighting Mack and Bridge and being defeated by the Drive Lance and Drive Defender blade mode. After Thrax is destroyed by the Sentinel Knight, the villains go their separate ways again. Because of these failed alliances, Flurious never attempts to work with the other villains again.
Continuation of searching the Jewels
Flurious sits alone in his throne in the ice den, when Norg returns, he asks where he has been, Norg tells him since it was his day off, he went for a walk, Flurious tells him he hopes he enjoyed it, because it will be the last day off he will ever have. Flurious is annoyed about what is Norg doing, celebrating Halloween. Then Flurious' screen has detected that one of his Gyros is being activated and knows that the Fearcats are ones responsible, Flurious orders Norg to gather the Chillers to hunt them down. Flurious ambushed Will in the woods while searching the Fearcats' hideout, Will destroyed the Chillers and comes after Flurious next, but Flurious vanishes before the Black Ranger can do anything. Later, Norg runs into the ice den, thrilled with himself for making himself useful for finding the Fearcats' hideout. Flurious stand up from his thrown and yells at Norg that next time he to call him when he finds the hideout, Norg then quickly forgets as he races to the door to greet the penguins trick or treaters, Flurious wonders where he has gone wrong.
Much later, Flurious's screen displays another energy reading of a Fearcat. Flurious isn't very happy to see that there is another Fearcat showed up, Flurious commands Norg to take a group of Chillers to find the Fearcats and destroy them. After Norg failing to track down the Fearcats, Flurious is ready to blast him off, Norg mentions that the Fearcats are after the Octavian Chalice, now that he is aware what they are up to and spares Norg for it. Later, Flurious and Norg are walking in the woods, searching for one of the relics, the Minerva's staff. Flurious is very pleased to have the staff, but the Rangers surprise attack him and drop the staff. One of his Chillers manages to get the staff back to Flurious, it pleases him. After his Chillers are defeated, Flurious uses the Minerva's staff to blast them off and vanish with the relic. Flurious later arrives with the relic to assist Moltor and use it against the Rangers, but suddenly Benglo streaks through and grabs the staff from his hands. Mig and Benglo mocks and looks down on Flurious, Moltor, Miratrix, and Kamdor after taking away the relics from them. The Fearcats then knock all four villains off their feet, Flurious beginning to wonder if it is possible that the Fearcats have defeated them all.
Flurious, Moltor, Miratrix, and Kamdor arrives and watches the Rangers fight the Fearcats with their Megazords, Flurious states that he should have destroyed the Fearcats the moment they arrive in the planet and thinks he hated the Fearcat more than he hates the Power Rangers, after the Fearcats are destroyed, Flurious laughs in glee, knowing that the Fearcats are finally gone. Moltor contacts his brother via the screen, Moltor is also happy to see the demise of the Fearcats, Flurious makes an offer to Moltor to work for him one time only, Moltor refuses, Flurious will remember the decision he choses. After Kamdor is destroyed and Miratrix is trap inside the jewel, Flurious gets his hands on the third jewel of the Corona Aurora, the blue sapphire, thanks to Norg but he doesn't show gratitude towards the Yeti. Flurious uses his jewel to destroy Moltor's Volcano, then destroys Moltor by luring him to his Ice Den and taking the Corona Aurora before freezing him solid and shattering him, making Flurious the final obstacle for the rangers and his plan of world domination.
The Final Battle and Defeat

Using the combined power of the Blue Sapphire and the crown, Flurious is able to locate the Rangers' base, where the remaining jewels are hidden. Attacking the Hartford Mansion, Flurious thanks Mr. Hartford for finding all the jewels for him, Flurious blasts Mack with his staff and have him hostage, Flurious threatens to kill Mack in front of them if they don't give him what he came for, Mr. Hartford gives him the pink emerald, but he wanted them all and then leaves the mansion. Flurious gets the rest of the jewels for the crown. Later in his ice den, Flurious is preparing and now ready to lead his army of Chillers to conquer the world, Norg wanted to join him, but Flurious tells him that his service has ended, he then leaves some of his Chillers behind to take care of Norg and Vella. Flurious and his army of Chillers arrived in the rock quarry, Flurious places down the jewels of the Corona Aurora, the jewels revert to their original form and places them on the crown. The Rangers quickly appears and attack his forces before he can put it on. He freezes the entire city, but the Operation Overdrive Rangers freeze during mid-morph so they escape freezing and defeat the Chillers so Flurious puts on the Corona Aurora, transforming into an immensely powerful Jack Frost-like monster form called Flurrex.
The Rangers manage to use teamwork to fight back, but grows giant so the Rangers combat him with the DriveMax Megazord and BattleFleet Megazord in its carrier mode, but he quickly defeats the Drivemax Megazord by grabbing its sword and flinging it up to the air as it crashes down, and destroys the Battlefleet Megazord. Shrinking back down to human size, he taunts them about their Megazord, and sends out a huge army of Chillers. Whilst the other Rangers destroy the Chillers, Mack becomes the Red Sentinal Ranger, and uses everything he has to defeat Flurious. After he is beaten by a tornado attack, the Corona Aurora falls on the ground, unfreezing San Angeles and he reverts to his original form. Flurious refuses to accept defeat and tries to reclaim the Corona Aurora, only for an enrage Mack to stop him and use all his power left to finally destroy Flurious with a powerful energy beam, thus ending his threat once and for all and saving the world, but at the cost of Mack's own life. However, Mack is later revived by the Sentinel Knight by using the Corona Aurora to transform him into a normal human.

Flurious is more cold-headed, passionate, calm and tranquil than his brother. Unlike Moltor, he is engaged in arguably less evil schemes against the Rangers than his brother. However, despite being more passionate and calm than Moltor, he is still ruthless, sadistic, aggressive and wrathful, which is frequently shown during his relationships with Norg; humiliating the innocent yeti and never congratulating or rewarding his companion for serving him. Due to their lifelong rivalry, Flurious hates his brother and they hate each other but, at the same time, they both hate the Power Rangers. He is highly cunning, strategic and pragmatic in his nature, being shown as highly skilled in stalking and attacking his enemies unexpectedly, while awaiting for the time when they would become completely vulnerable and helpless.
While he makes some alliances with other villains, Flurious lacks genuine empathy towards others and never regrets his crimes, hates the Rangers and other villains for rivalling him. Furthermore, he was only using the other villains to accomplish his goals and never cared for them in the first place. His most heinous actions are in the finale, when he orders his Chillers to kill Norg and Vella, despite the innocent yeti having loyally served him. And lastly, Flurious killed his brother Moltor with no remorse after he was weaken and started laughing about it before shattering him into pieces. Overall, Flurious has no true redeeming qualities and, while he has many comedic moments, they just slightly mitigate his heinousness.
Powers and Abilities
Just like his brother, Flurious is an extremely powerful warrior, able to hold his own against the full Overdrive Rangers team for a long time, and even best them on several occasions. Unlike Moltor, Flurious' powers were ice-based and so he created ice-themed monsters and robots. He also could fire ice energy blasts and was highly intelligent to create a super-powerful war machines. However, unlike Moltor, he never used the monster-growing devices, for the obvious reasons that his monsters were already giants and never in human size.
Normal Form
- Inhuman Strength: Flurious possess a tremendous physical strength, being able to knock away his opponents in good distance and able to knock aside the Drill Blaster's final attack.
- Extraordinary Leaper: Flurious can leap at an incredible distance.
- Teleportation: Flurious have the ability to teleport to any location at will.
- Chillers Summoning: Flurious can summon an army of humanoid ice creatures called Chillers to aid him in battle.
- Snow Cataclysm: Flurious' signature attack where he can fire a continuous blast of icy cold snow from his hand at the sky. This manages to cover the entire Earth with nothing but snow and ice and also encase people in ice. This is his most powerful attack he ever performed.
Arsenal
- Ice Staff: Flurious' main weapon, Flurious can launch out a devastating ice beam to create great explosive force. Sometimes, it can also freeze enemies in ice and was strong enough to take down Dax, Ronny, and Rose with one hit. Flurious can also launch a blast of icy cold wind from his staff, and also can cause a massive snowstorm.
- Gyros: Flurious created an rotating propellers called Gyros, that when placed in a strong being's chest, will increase their strength and change their appearance. However, if it placed on weak beings, it causes them to explode into nothing but snowflakes.
