Darrius is a minor antagonist in the Mortal Kombat franchise.
He is the leader of the Seidan Resistance after seeks to overthrow Seido's appressive government.
Biography
Early Life
Darrius is a Seidan who became disillusioned with Seidou's oppressive nature. As a result, he led the resistance with the goal of overthrowing Orderrealm's Senate. He does not disdain by any means to achieve the desired, including using the Laws of Order for his own benefit. When Darrius thought his resistance needed new members, he hired a killer to kill the warrior's family, whom Darrius considered valuable for his resistance. He hoped that an angry warrior would try to destroy the one who killed his family and thereby violate Seido's law. After this revenge, according to the Laws of Order, a prison awaited, from where Darrius rescued him and offered to join his squad.
Mortal Kombat: Deception/Unchained
In the Konquest Mode during the past, Darrius induced a riot in Seido and was confronted by Shujinko, who was sent by Hotaru to quell the disturbance. Darrius enjoyed the confrontation, but was defeated by the adventurer, whom used the skills he had learned from Hotaru.
In the present, Darrius hired Dairou, a fellow Seidan guardsman whom he used his ploy on, to steal the Declaration of Order (the Seidan constitution). In his ending, Dairou is successful and Darrius pays him well. Darrius announced the capture of the Declaration to all of Seido, citing it as a new beginning. As he predicted, Hotaru and the guardsmen went onto confront them, and were easily defeated by the Resistance.
Mortal Kombat: Armageddon
Darrius joined the battle in Armageddon, siding with the Forces of Darkness, where he had a fight with Johnny Cage and later Fujin. He was knocked on the rising Pyramid of Argus by Shao Kahn. After the pyramid rose from the ground, he fell off and got back up. He was seen fighting Stryker on the Pyramid in the background.
In his non canon ending, after defeating Blaze, the Pyramid is transformed into a ring, which he uses to unlock Argus's vault of treasures, which he uses to finally defeat Hotaru and take over Orderrealm. However, Argus would send his sons Taven and Daegon on a quest to retrieve the treasures Darrius stole. Ultimately in the main version of events, he dies like most of the kombatants.
Mortal Kombat 1
In the New Era, Darrius joined Dairou, also known as Havik, in his goal to free Orderrealm and take down its oppressive regime. They both soon allied with Quan Chi, in return, they would receive the spells needed to liberate Seido.
Havik and Darrius were reluctant to assist Quan Chi at first, doubting his word, but they were compelled by Sareena and Nitara to uphold their end of the deal, giving QUan Chi the crystal he needed to complete his soul stealer. Darrius would later fight Johnny Cage when they were discovered. He, alongside Havik, were defeated by Ashrah and Syzoth, and they fled.
Soon, Darrius and Havik were seen assisting Quan Chi and Shang Tsung in the Ying Fortress and found Kuai Liang escaping from his brother Bi-Han and tried to stop him by burning him alive. Kuai Liang prevailed though, burning Havik's face instead. in the following confrontation, the ninja was able to defeat the anarchists, and they subsequently fled.
