He is one of the few survivors of the post-apocalyptic future caused by the invasion of Meklord Emperors. Aporia experienced numerous despairs throughout his life including the loss of his parents as an adolescent, the loss of his lover as an adult, and the realization that he was one of the only surviving humans as an elder. As an old man, he meets three more survivors named Z-One, Antinomy, and Paradox and the four formed the group Iliaster to create a better future for humanity. In a last ditch effort to prevent the apocalyptic future from ever occurring, Aporia is sent to the past in the form of three androids named Lester, Primo, and Jakob. As the Three Pure Nobles leading Iliaster, the androids embodying Aporia work to further Z-One's goals for destroying New Domino City while coming into conflict with Yusei Fudo and Team 5D's.

Biography
Aporia was born during after the world had become dependent on the Ener-D system which was powered by the Synchro Summoning method used in Duel Monsters. Although the system led to rapid innovation, humanity's greed pushed Ener-D to spin so fast that it could no longer be controlled. The Ener-D then created a genocidal army of Meklord Emperors that hunted humanity to near extinction. Aporia's parents were killed by the Meklord Emperors when he was still a child, an event that left him feeling deep despair. Later as an adult, Aporia became a freedom fighter and fell in love with a fellow fighter named Eurea. During an ambush, Eurea was killed by Meklord Emperor and Aporia was left once again with a feeling of despair. As the human population dwindled, Aporia found himself alone as an elderly man. Realizing that he had nobody else to love or care for, Aporia was left with despair for the third time in his life.
Aporia was later discovered by three other survivors named Z-One, Antinomy, and Paradox. The four of them went on to form the group Iliaster and spent several years trying to restore the world to what it was before it was ravaged by Ener-D. Their attempts were largely unsuccessful and on his deathbed, Aporia asked that Z-one do whatever it took to prevent the apocalyptic future from ever occurring. Towards this end, Aporia requested that his body be sent to the past in the form of three androids that embodied the three aforementioned despairs.
These three androids became the Three Pure Nobles and consisted of the adolescent Lester the adult Primo, and the elder Jakob. The Three Pure Nobles possessed the ability of falsification of history that allowed them to alter events in time. They use their powers to enter the WGRP with the goal of defeating Yusei Fudo and Team 5D's. During Yusei's final duel with Jakob, Lester and Primo combine with the latter to form Aporia's true android form. Despite his immense skills as a duelist, the Aporia android is defeated by Yusei and his android body become heavily damaged after his duel runner tumbles into the ocean.
After being rescued and repaired by Z-One, Aporia is tasked with protecting the Second Planetary Gear of the Ark Cradle from Team 5D's members Jack Atlas, Leo, and Luna. He forces the latter to wear heart devices that inflict real physical damage when damage is taken during the duel. Aporia remains cold throughout the duel and affirms what it is like to feel true despair, even after Leo seemingly dies once his life points drop to zero. Eventually, Leo is revived and the members of Team 5D's are able to defeat Aporia for a second time. As Aporia wonders whether he is feeling despair for losing, Jack tells him that his desire to help Z-One causes him to feel hope, not despair. These words stick with Aporia as he seemingly falls to his death filled with no pain, only hope.
Aporia survives his fall and inspired by the Signer's words, reappears at the Central Planetary Gear to challenge Z-One in the hopes of reigniting the hope that the latter once held for the future. Despite his efforts and refusal to quit, Aporia is defeated and laments his failure to reach his old friend. Yusei and the signers nonetheless thank him for revealing Z-One's deck and strategies. Heavily damaged from the duel, Aporia uses his final moments to fuse his duel disk to Yusei's Duel Runner, giving in the power to fly for the final duel against Z-One.
Team 5D's mourn his death while Z-One remains cold, stating that the real Aporia died a long time ago. Z-One is ultimately defeated by Yusei and redeems himself by sacrificing his life to destroy the Ener-D reactor before the Ark Cradle crashes into New Domino City. As he passes on, Z-One remembers Aporia and his old friends, hoping that in the new future Yusei creates, he will be able to meet them again.
Deck
As the Three Pure Nobles, the androids embodying Aporia also use "Meklord" decks focusing on one of the Meklord Emperors. Ironically, Aporia uses an Anti-Synchro deck consisting of the monsters that were responsible for the major despairs in his life and destroyed humanity in the apocalyptic future that he is attempting to prevent.
Trivia
- The name "Aporia" comes from the Greek word "ἀπορία", which is used in philosophy to refer to a philosophical puzzle or state of puzzlement. Like his comrades Paradox and Antimony, his codename is based on a logical conundrum, symbolizing how his three components are different takes on the same person.
