Galua

Galua (ガルァ Garua?) is the leader of Team Two of the Madalans.

Appearance

Like the rest of its kind, Galua possesses a smooth, amorphous body with a heart engraved on its chest and a circular head that levitates without a neck. However, unlike the other Madalans, Galua does not have any rings or halos around his head.

Personality

Galua is an incredibly callous, ruthless, and cruel being. It aided the rest of its species in the near-extinction of humanity in their home world. When interacting with the demon army, it casually begins exterminating the hordes of demons without a second thought in order to establish the hierarchy and assert their superiority. Once it tunes in to a frequency that allowed it to communicate with the demons, it casually refers to them as trash and demands they tell Galua what happened to the planet. Galua dislikes those who talk down to it, expressing irritation at Kiva's defiant attitude. In combat, Galua constantly belittles its opponents, referring to them as amoeba and defective organisms and crushing any hopes of victory.

This attitude comes from the immense power Galua possesses alongside his kind. As such, he displays anger when ignored when attempting first contact and strides on the battlefield with confidence. This causes it to become irritated and angered when the demons continue attacking the Madalan's over and over again. At the same time, when faced with immense power from the Kaiju, who destroyed their warship, it is unable to comprehend such a situation and is stunned when Pow is unable to harm it and falls onto the ground. By the end of the climax between them and the demons, Galua acknowledges that Earth holds more surprises than assumed, while readying to prepare for future battles.

Plot

Demons vs Aliens Arc

Galua arrives alongside three of its comrades when an unmanned satellite was activated, directing them to the location of the attack.[1] When Galua takes form, it releases an incredibly loud sound, causing everyone nearby to cover their ears. Galua and the rest of the Madalans walk forward and approach the demons.[2] Wanting to eliminate the new threat as soon as possible, Kiva unleashes a full power attack against Galua.[3] However, the Madalan emerges from the smoke unharmed. Kiva transforms and attempts to attack Galua, but the Madalan casually punches the demon before it can react, sending him flying into the base and defeating him in a single blow. When the other demons try to attack Galua for striking their leader, Galua casually destroys them with its eye beams. It proceeds to burst into the air, flying straight into the army of demons and killing them with its eye beams. It proceeds to unleash beams of energy from its fingers, creating massive explosions and eliminating several more hordes of demons.[4]

After Galua's onslaught, it finally finds a frequency that allows it to speak in a language the demons and humans understand. Galua states it has something to ask the demons, and that it might allow a small number of them who can answer its questions to live. Noting that the humans appear to have launched their final desperate struggle, it asks the demons where they all came from while deriding them as trash.[5] Refusing to give Galua an answer, it continues to eliminate the demons. One of its comrades tells Galua that it can't kill all the demons without asking them what happened to the planet. Galua replies that it was only following normal procedures to start a dialogue with the new creatures by establishing the hierarchy in the simplest terms. Galua approaches one of the demons, placing its finger on the demon's forehead and demanding it to speak. The demon tells Galua that they're just as confused as the Madalans and that the humans are responsible for what happened to the planet. As the Madalan approaches Hallow, two soldiers from the Mecha Ordinance target Galua, but it summons one of the Madalan ships to kill the soldiers. Not wanting to waste any more time, Galua uses the ships to target the people inside the building. It promises anyone who answers them will be allowed to live, though Thear exclaims that the Madalans won't allow any of them to live. One of the Madalans, Uki, asks if it is really necessary to bring in the ships, though Galua tells Uki to stop complaining.

Suddenly, Kiva drops down from the sky and attempts to take Galua down with a surprise attack, though Galua casually blocks the demon's fist. Kiva tells Galua that it won't get a painless death for how it attacked him earlier. Unable to remember Kiva due to his weakness in comparison to the Madalan, Galua takes issue with Kiva's attitude and attempts to kill the demon with his eye laser attack: Pew Pew Pew. Kiva manages to nullify the attack, surprising Galua and the other Madalans. Realizing he is not strong enough to take Galua on himself, Kiva uses the Demon-Flute to summon the other combat executives of the 11th Division, Shinso, Bikkuk, and Oppo, who promptly destroy the Madalan mini ships. Wanting to demonstrate how futile their struggle is, Galua fights the executives, the heart symbol on its chest glowing brightly.

Shinso fires a barrage of spikes at Galua, but the Madalan casually blocks all of them. Bikkuk attempts to bite Galua with his beak, but Galua dodges and fires beams of energy at Bikkuk, who takes evasive maneuvers. Oppo jumps above Galua and uses his spiked body to slam Galua into the ground. The four demons combine their attacks into a deadly energy beam: Quartet of Deadly Evil. However, Galua quickly counterattacks with a barrage of kicks, revealing itself to be completely unharmed. Though it admits the power wasn't terrible, Galua still states the impact was too soft, deriding the demons as nothing more than defective organisms and lower lifeforms who would never match up to the strength of Madalans. It mocks them as not even worth analyzing and demands they disappear. Galua releases a blast of electricity, frying the four demons and causing them to plummet to the ground.

Galua once again derides the new life forms as weak and dull. To its surprise, the four demons get up once again, thanks to the mana they receive from the humans. The four demons activate their Burst transformation and attack Galua, but the Madalan insists it's pointless.[6] Galua continues the battle against the four combat executives while killing the demons caught in the crossfire. Kiva fires another Evil Maw's Roar, but Galua casually deflects the energy blast toward the Humanity's Fortress.[7] Galua's attacks once again exhaust the four demons. The Madalan mocks them by asking if they were already out of juice. Pow tells Galua to quit fooling around. It says if they aren't going to talk, then fighting them is a waste if energy. Galua agrees, and grabs a controller from the heart on its chest. Galua summons one of their large warships and orders it to decimate the land. But before the warship can fire, it is destroyed by the mega-kaiju, Daikokuzan.[8]

Galua is surprised that an organism that size and weight could move. Pow insists Daikokuzan's size is irrelevant and inferior to their information compression bodies, though Galua reminds it that the monster destroyed their ship. Galua watches Pow attempt to pierce Daikokuzan's brain, only to fail and crash to the ground. The demons rush toward the Madalans, and Galua resumes its battle with them.[9] As the Madalan is fighting, it notices a spacial distortion from the human's fortress. Deriding the humans as arrogant Earthlings, Galua fires a small beam of energy at the fortress, which Hallow barely redirects.[10] As the battle continues, Galua and the other Madalans note that their mini-ships are incapable of even piercing Daikokuzan's skin. Galua determines they will need more information before they can kill the kaiju. The Madalan ponders on the surprises Earth still has and sees it as proof they need to have Earth for themselves. Bikkuk realizes that the mana they were receiving has run out and prepares to flee, but Galua fires an electric attack, killing him. Along with the others, Galua proceeds to finish eliminating the remaining demons, including Kiva.[11]

Demon Lord Arc

Galua returns to the Madalan mothership and is present at a meeting to discuss the new enemies that have arrived on Earth. During the meeting, Galua acknowledges Daikokuzan as a threat. The alien says an extermination team needs to be formed to eliminate it and cellular samples of the kaiju must be collected. Geloge reminds the Madalans that Daikokuzan destroyed one of their ships and chastises Galua for this loss. Geloge asks Galua what it'll do to take responsibility, to which Galua gives no response. Bawan defends Galua, reminding Geloge the Madalans have no rank or class, so the responsibility remains with the Madalans as a collective. The meeting continues, and when the aliens discuss the threat level of the demons, Galua agrees with the overall assessment that the demons aren't a threat. Galua is unaware that Uki was sending an emergency message requesting backup against the demon lord, Jachi.[12]

Abilities

As a Madalan, Galua is an incredibly powerful being. Its power allows it to casually decimate an army of demons, as well as defeat four division combat executives of the Demon Army with ease[13], all while holding back[14]. Hallow compares Galua's strength and the aura of terror it emits to a demon lord.[15]

Physical Abilities

  • Superhuman Strength: Galua possesses remarkable physical strength. Its power is powerful enough to casually defeat a transformed Kiva with a single punch[16] and would kill the demon if Zaybi didn't revive him with an infusion of mana. Galua was capable of heavily injuring the four division captain demons with a barrage of kicks.
  • Superhuman Speed and Reflexes: Galua is incredibly fast. It is capable of rushing toward Kiva and punching him at a speed he could not react to.[16] Galua can move fast enough to create a shockwave that kills all the nearby demons, as well as fly through the air at incredible speeds while firing beams of energy. Galua's enhanced reflexes allow it to easily block all of Shinso's spikes.
  • Superhuman Durability: Galua possesses a very high level of durability. It is capable of withstanding Kiva's full-powered energy blast, Evil Maw's Roar, and emerge unharmed.[17] More impressively, Galua endures a combined attack from the four division captain demons, Quartet of Deadly Evil, and sustains no damage.[18]

Supernatural Abilities

  • Flight: Due to its nature as a Madalan, Galua is capable of flying through the air at incredible speeds.
  • Energy Projection: Galua is capable of emitting beams of energy from its fingers or its eyes. These beams of energy are capable of creating massive explosions with ease.
    • Pew Pew Pew: One of Galua's special moves, which involves firing thin beams of light from its eyes. These energy beams are capable of casually slicing enemies into tiny pieces before they can even react.
  • Electricity Generation: Galua can generate electricity as a form of attack.
    • Zap-Zap: This special move creates a burst of electricity from the heart symbol on Galua's chest, electrocuting its enemies.
  • Spatial Distortions Detection: Galua can detect the presence and activation of teleportation, immediately noticing when the humans are about to use a spell to teleport them all elsewhere.
