Comfort level determines the duration of Resting Effect. Base duration is 8 minutes, with each comfort level stacking 1 minute up to 24 minutes with usual items and 26 minutes with rare seasonal items.
The max comfort reachable normally is 17. If near a Maypole 18 or with the seasonal Yule tree 19.
When entering most dungeons (such as Burial Chambers) a fire can be constructed to easily gain Comfort 3 (and a 10-minute Rested Effect).
Note that while you can add more than one furniture item from the categories below, only the one with the highest comfort will influence the comfort rating.
Comfort level breakdown
Only the highest level item of a category will be used. Items in the same category will not stack with other items in the same category. Items with no category will stack with different items with no category. No item stacks with itself.

Maximum comfort per biomes
This table highlights comfort items discoverable within each biome, illustrating the progression of potential comfort levels. Biomes themselves do not directly affect comfort level – only the comfort items placed.
Seasonal items are not included in this table; when they are available, they each add +1 comfort for a potential total bonus of +2 comfort. Both seasonal items are obtainable with Meadows-level gear, but both will require visiting a Black Forest.
