A Star Symbol Planet U40. While similar in appearance and functionality to Color Timer, they are not necessities for the Ultra People and can be removed when not in use. Appropriately, only 9 known Star Symbols existed, as there were initially 8 used by Joneus, Elek, Loto and the other chosen 5 warriors. The ninth Star Symbol is awarded to Titas after his first transformation.

The☆Ultraman
The first recorded appearance of the Star Symbol can be harkened back to Ultraman Joneus' first arrival on Earth. The device allows Joneus to become a giant for at least 4 minutes aproximately. However, the first real mention of the Star Symbol was during Elek and Loto's journey to Earth, where the two were given these by the Great Sage to travel towards Earth and assist Joneus in the fight against Alien Jadan. The Devil's UFO's Large Invasion Amia stole one of the Star Symbols in her journey to Earth, doing so out of infatuation towards Choichiro Hikari. She grew giant by transforming from her human host Kyoko Kodaka and with it, she join forces with Joneus to destroy Garbados. Presumably after returning to U40, she returned the stolen Star Symbol as well. The Female Ultra Warrior The Star Symbols continued to be used by Joneus and the rest of the chosen 8 Ultra Warriors, up until they thwarted the invasion of Heller Empire from their home world. To The Ultra Star! Conclusion: Towards Peace and Victory

Powers
- Interstellar Travel: The Star Symbol allows an Ultra People to perform any interstellar travel from U40 to any other world without the need of space ships.
- Size Change: The main ability for Star Symbol is to allow the Ultra People to grow into gigantic proportions, provided that they are in their Ultra forms. As Joneus would demonstrate, absorbing enough sunlight would allow a Star Symbol user to grow up to 120 meters.
- Energy Measuring: Like normal Color Timers, the Star Symbol changes color to notify the time limit on being a giant. Like their M78 counterparts, this time limit is less as hard a rule as described, and more a matter of energy use. This is clear when Joneus was able to use the solar energy he absorbed in space to replenish his time limit and even grow to greater stature than normal. The demonstrated process is different from the M78 Color Timer, in that its default color is green, before changing to yellow and finally red after 3 minutes had passed. Titas' Star Symbol works differently, as it shines blue and blinks red like non-U40 Ultras.

Trivia
- The Star Symbol didn't make its official introduction until episode 29, where its nature and function were explained at the very start of the episode. Until then, Elek, Loto and the chosen 5's appearances were animated without the Star Symbols and naturally grew large, suggesting the devices were late additions to the story to explain Joneus' condition on Earth.
- In the same vein as above, Titas in the voice drama was drawn by Masayuki Gotoh without his Star Symbol (as he had yet to acquire one) during his first transformation, but is able to grow giant anyway in against the threat of Kishiader.
- When Choichirou was on U40, Amia explained to him that some among her people could become giants by their own power, not that they needed devices to do so.
- In episode 29, when Elek and Loto were given their Star Symbols to fly to Earth, it was stated that these devices marked them as emissaries of the Elder of U40. Amia also stole one specifically because it would allow her to fly to Earth without need of a space vessel.
- Given the instances above, a possible theory to this is that the ability to grow giant is naturally present in the Ultra People, provided that they train for it, and that the Star Symbol functions to reduce the burden of using such ability.
