Ota originally worked as a screenwriter in a small theater company. Since she wanted to participate in video works, she submitted a script to Masato Oida, the producer of Tsuburaya Productions, on the recommendation of Akio Jissoji, a senior at Chikuma Shobō. In 1997, she participated in Ultraman Tiga and debuted as a screenwriter.[1]
From 1997 to 2007, she worked as a screenwriter for several Ultraman series. Notably, in 2005, she was responsible for the main script of the third season of Ultraman Nexus.
Since 2009, she has been active primarily in the field of Japanese television dramas. In 2012, she debuted as a novelist with the publication of her book, Criminal.
