Trivia

The song is a parody of "Greased Lightnin'" from the 1971 musical Grease and the 1978 film adaptation.
On the DVD, Digital Download, the Nick Jr airing and the theatrical version, Annie and Clarabel's screams before arriving at the Steamworks are absent but are present in the PBS broadcast.
At the end of the song, the way the school children dance is a reference to Peanuts; The school boy dances like 555, and the school girl dances like Violet.

Goofs

During the scene when Thomas is being broken apart, his cab door is seen being taken off. In the scene when he is blow-torched, though, his cab door is still there.
A Dieselworks Workman spraypaints Thomas, Annie and Clarabel instead of a Steamworks Workman.
