Rusty is an oil can owned and used by Diesel. Similar to Percy's lucky bell, Rusty severs as a comfort treatment towards Diesel.
Thomas once threw out Rusty thinking it was garbage, much to Diesel's dismay. Luckily, Sandy managed to find Rusty and get the oil can back to Diesel.[1]
