Duke's Shed was the main engine shed used by the Mid Sodor Railway. It was located next to Duke's Station.
History
In its heyday, the shed was mainly occupied by Duke, Falcon and Stuart. Behind the shed was a small lean-to, where Smudger was placed after being turned into a generator.
When the line closed, Duke was put in a small one-road shed next to the main shed. After many years, the shed was covered by landslides and trees, burying it. Some rescuers later searched the area for Duke, with one eventually discovering him after falling through the roof. Once the shed was excavated, Duke was taken by a lorry to the Skarloey Railway.
