Gina was a friend and second in command to Mother Mayhem in the Church of Blood.
Biography
Early life
In 1997, Gina was seen beside May Bennett in the Organization eating strawberries. She and many other women partook in trials to become Trigon's 'queen'. Despite betraying May by pushing her off the ladder, Gina remained May's friend after May was chosen over her to mother Trigon's next child.
Gina was at some point in a sexual relationship with another woman, Darlene, in the Organization.[1]
Church of Blood
In 2019, Gina rescued May from the Asylum where she had been held for many years, taking the opportunity when Koriand'r burned it down. From then on Gina remained by May's side as her loyal companion.[1]
She along with many other of Mother Mayhem's acolytes referred to her as "Mother" and Gina spoke out against another acolyte for implying that Mother Mayhem's plan for the blood moon was failing. She helped her friend locate her son, identifying that he was being kept in some metaphysical plane by Koriand'r and they would not be able to reach him easily.
In desperation, Mother Mayhem conversed with Trigon through the portal of blood in her temple, and was told of how to reach Elko's Diner where Koriand'r and Rachel where hiding Sebastian. When approached by her friend, Gina was ready and accepting of the fate Trigon had chosen for her and even handed May a knife to use. The two embraced just before May slit Gina's throat; using the blood and life force drained from her to cast a spell enabling her to reach Elko's Diner. As Gina died, May told her that she would honor her friend's sacrifice forever. As Gina's blood poured into a podium May held her over, the podium began to glow gold as its power grew.[2]
Personality
Gina was an easily manipulated woman, brought into the Organization and then into Mother Mayhem's Church of Blood, and formed intensely loyal bonds to her superiors. She would lash out at any sign of disrespect shown to May. She was extremely devoted to her faith, Trigon and Mother Mayhem, and accepted her death easier than Mother Mayhem did: seeing it as her way to serve Trigon and reunite Mother Mayhem with her son Sebastian.
