Appearance

Middray has the appearance of a tall, muscular bald man garbed in priest robes. A significant trait of his is the mole on the middle of his forehead.

Personality

Middray is a simple-minded battle maniac. He doesn't like to think too hard about complicated topics, and is quick to anger. However, in certain situations he's been shown to be capable of holding his cool, such as when he dealt with Yamza's unreasonable demands. A firm believer that all ingredients should be served raw and uncooked as he stubbornly insists that's the perfect offering for Milim. Unlike Hermes, he's foolishly oblivious to why Milim hardly shows up to eat their food - and on the rare occasions when she does, he fails to take note of the deadpan expression she puts on while eating it.

As the Head Priest, Middray cares for his subordinates and will not forgive anyone who tries to hurt them. He takes pride of being a Dragon Faithful and does not hide his joy of showing his inner strength. He also enjoys fighting against a strong opponent, just like he showed in his fight against Suphia. He holds great respect for his fellow fighters, giving compliments for their efforts.

Having grown powerful enough to actually spar with Milim, Middray has come to truly believe that any strategy can be surpassed and defeated with sufficient brute force; biased as he is, he fails to realize that such a feat is impossible for anyone who isn't as ridiculously powerful as he is.

Trivia

  • Middray is the oldest known dragonewt in the series. In fact, given that the dragons, from which the dragonnewts diverged, are known to have only come into being centuries at most before Middray's birth, he may very well be one of the first dragonewts to have ever been born, if not the very first.
  • Due to his extreme narrow-mindedness, Middray was originally against trying the food at the Tempest founding party, only relenting at Shuna's overwhelming insistence. This prompted his first bite of genuinely cooked food, which brought him to tears. After hearing Shuna's explaination that just like how individuals grow stronger through cooperation, the ingredients only get more delicious when mixed, and seeing how much Milim was enjoying the food, in contrast to her bland reaction to the raw offerings he always gave her, Middray finally realized the error of his narrow-minded ways.
