Magitrains ｢魔導列車, madō resha｣ are magic-powered locomotives developed in Jura-Tempest Federation, under the joint research effort of elves, dwarves, vampires, and humans. They revolutionized logistics in the world and became an important form of transport since their introduction.
Design
The locomotive was made of magisteel and powered by an Elemental Magic Core, a device that converts magicules into energy. In the case of the magitrain, it outputs heat energy that drives the steam turbines, which serves as both the engine and electric generator. The control is automated via Engraving magic.
Since the magitrain utilizes magicules as fuel, it could run without adding fuel in magicule-rich areas, and be powered by magic stones in places with lower concentration.
Initially they were designed to run at 50 km/h, while their theoretical maximum speed reaches 4 times as much. The basic configuration is 2 cargo cars and 3 passenger cars.
