Elf

Elves ｢耳長族｢エルフ｣, erufu, lit. "Long Eared Tribe"｣ are a species of Sprite Demi-humans with fairy ancestors similar to dwarves, merfolk and oni, representing the wind element.

Physical Traits

Elves are well known for their unusual longevity. As descendants of fairies, they have much larger natural mana reserves than those of humans and an average lifespan of between five hundred and eight hundred years. There are even those said to have lived far longer, coming closer to a fairy-like existence. Outwardly, their bodies stop aging in their early 20s; even elderly elves still look the same as they did in their youth. As they approach the end of their lifespan, however, they start aging rapidly, and after roughly twenty or thirty years, they become infirm like elderly humans.

Background

In the distant past, prior to the formation of the Sorcerous Dynasty of Sarion where many of the current elf population reside, there was once an elven superpower known as the Super-Magic Kingdom. It presumably at one point held the entire world's elven population, and Kagali was its princess. Due to the foolishness of her father, the kingdom fell overnight to Demon Lord Milim's wrath. The surviving elves split apart and pursued different paths: some followed Kagali and created Jistav; others settled elsewhere and eventually formed the foundation for what would become Sarion; and the rest took shelter in forests, hiding away their settlements with illusory barriers.
