William IV was the King of the United Kingdom until his death on 20 June 1837. He was succeeded by his niece, Queen Victoria. (PROSE: The Time Traveller's Almanac)

- William IV was the third son of George III, younger brother to George IV and elder brother of Queen Victoria's father, Edward, Duke of Kent and Strathearn.
