Bridgerton was a television series. Upon arriving in 1813 at a fancy ball in Bath, England, Ruby Sunday commented to the Fifteenth Doctor "Oh, my Bridgerton! This is my actual dream!" Later, when told by Emily Beckett at the ball that a couple caught alone was a scandal and that if the man refused to marry the lady, she would no longer be acceptable to polite society, Ruby commented "Oh, this is so Bridgerton!"
Upon learning that the Chuldur were killing people at the ball and taking over their bodies as a form of cosplay, the Doctor suspected that they might have been influenced by Bridgerton, as television signals were beamed out across the stars. Explaining the concept of cosplay to Rogue, he told him that "It's when fans dress up as characters they like. And in our Chuldur's case, it's Bridgerton."
