Mike and his ally Carla Gubb ended up on the right side of a power struggle on the Vuna tribe. However, despite Vuna holding the majority on his tribe after the tribe switch, Mike and Carla's burned bridges with Chappies Chapman, Paul Cupido, and Santoni Engelbrecht caused them to side with the Zamba coalition to eliminate Mike.

He entered this season 'to see if a neurotic, city-slicker, white-collar geek could crack it in the wild' and prepared by learning to tie knots – though declares himself 'useless' at it.
