A Luma (チコ Chiko?) is a creature from the Mario series. They appear in many different colors with the yellow ones being the most common. They are commonly seen alongside Rosalina.
Creature Description
Lumas are star-like creatures that have appeared in central roles in both Super Mario Galaxy games. They are friendly creatures who have the ability to transform into several different objects such as Launch Stars and Planets. They also can give abilities to other people, such as the ability to shoot star bits or to do a spin attack, as the main Luma does with Mario. Not much is known about the Luma's origins; however, when they die they are reborn into new stars. They come in different shapes and sizes, including yellow, red, blue, green, apricot, dark brown, pink, purple, turquoise, orange, and giant varieties.

As a playable character

The Lumas fight alongside Rosalina as newcomers in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. They function similarly to Pikmin, but can fight on their own, similar to the Ice Climbers. They come in six different colors: yellow, red, green, blue, apricot, and black.
Trophies
Lumas do not have any trophies of them alone, although they share several trophies with Rosalina.
- Rosalina & Luma
The mysterious Rosalina lives in the Comet Observatory with the Lumas. She first traveled with them in search of their mother. In Smash Bros., Rosalina and Luma can fight in different places at the same time. If you can trap someone between Rosalina and Luma, you'll be able to unleash incredible damage!
