"Dog Eat Dog" is the second segment in the premiere episode in the first season of StuGo. It is also the second episode of the season overall and aired on January 11, 2025 on Disney Channel.

The episode first aired as a "Sneako Peeko" on January 1, 2025, ahead of the series premiere.[1]

Plot

At the camp, the kids hold a water-to-the-eye resistance contest, with Pliny winning over Chip. Her trick: the eyes always need to be wet. This coincides with their weekly shipment of food arriving at the camp - however, a mutant, humanoid crocodile has grabbed and ran away with the entire crate, despite Merian's best efforts (she, having grabbed onto the crate, ends up spinning along with the crocodile instead). While Larry suggests eating bugs, Pliny vetoes that idea and instead go to Dr. Lullah, who is currently playing tic-tac-toe with a mutant crab (and drawing all her matches against it).

Despite having an entire vault full of many food, and also despite the fact she made the very mutants that roam across the island, Lullah locks the vault and, telling them that since it's a "dog eat dog" world, the kids should duke it out, revealing an entire stash of weapons. Pliny asks once more for the food, but Lullah declines, this time holding up a mace threateningly. However, Sara, taking a large sword, is up to the challenge... if she isn't being weighed down by her sword.

The kids head over to the mutants' hideout, while Pliny and co. strategize: Chip would have kicked it, but he's running on no breakfast so he's unsure if he could swing his leg hard enough, Larry would have eaten a butterfly, but has grown attached to it, and Sara is going to use her sword. However, Pliny throws it out - instead of fighting to the death, the kids would instead hold a competition. The first contest ends up being trying to stay on the boat, with Pliny being flung out of the boat.

Her boots are spotted by a mutant, humanoid shark. Pliny attempts to ask around for directions, but the shark instead takes her boots! The kids give chase and run right into the hideout, where she comes face-to-face with the food (and boot) thief. Pliny pleads to the crocodile leader to give her back the food and boots, but the other mutants aren't willing to play clean. Pliny quickly defuses it and announces that instead, she will challenge the mutants to a challenge: whoever wins gets all the food.

The water around the hideout is drained, revealing a gladiator-esque arena, and the kids are given ceremonial contest slacks to use. Since the kids invoked a "sacred law", the two teams must now take turns choosing contests. It's a best of three: whoever wins all, gets all. The crocodile's bird buddy lands on tails, so it's the mutants' turn to pick. The first contest: no-arm push-ups. Chip easily loses (he wanted to use his legs to do push-ups but has to use his tongue instaead). Mutants 1, kids 0. The second contest is book reading - Merian easily aces the challenge, both teams are tied. However, the third contest ends up being book DESTROYING. Merian easily flops, she does NOT want to destroy these books! - mutants 2, kids 1.

The third contest, as chosen by Francis, is a classic game of rock-paper-scissors that lasts for way longer that both she and her opponent would have liked, and this ends up being a draw. The fourth contest is a high-wire - Larry sics the butterfly at his opponent, and now the two teams are tied once more. Pliny's contest is a good-ol' fashioned game of "gimme back my boots!" ... while trying to survive a jumping geyser. Pliny, remembering that eyes need to be wet, leaps into the geyser and comes out... glasses-less and bald, but with the boots!

The kids win the contest!... but the mutants aren't having any of it. Stealing Pliny's boots, and the kids' winning point, the mutants instead win not only the food, but her boots. Witnessing the betrayal unfold in front of her eyes, Pliny rallies the kids - this is the real world, not school, and it's time to fight to the death. Each kid sees themselves as a certain dog breed: Larry a rat terrier, Merian a Mexican hairless, Chip a mastiff, Sara "a dog with a sword, like from anime," Francis a "medium-nice dog," and Pliny a porpoise, the dog of the sea. Soon, all the kids charge in and fight, eventually leading to the arena being filled up with water once more!

The kids and mutants resurface, with no food to spare, and soon Pliny sees the plight the group of mutants are in: they all have to eat sand, and it is very rare they get actual food. Pliny tells the others that fighting isn't everything, but instead, they should all work together, like a pack (of dogs) - later that night, indeed they do, combining brains with brawn to knock over a tree, breaking into Lullah's vault and treating themselves to all the food they could ever want in the world. Dr. Lullah herself watches this play out as she ties yet another round with the crab from earlier.
