The Federation Vesta-class starship is a set of starship classes in service from 2380 onwards. They are Starfleet's set of Multi-Mission Explorers.
Since 2380 these ships have more than proven themselves in combat and exploration alike. One notable vessel is the U.S.S. Aventine which served as a test bed for future ship advancements such as the Quantum Slipstream Drive.

Design
The Vesta class was designed by Mark Rademaker for the U.S.S. Aventine in the Star Trek: Destiny novels. Rademaker is also the origin of the Aventine variant (based on his concept for Star Trek: Voyager: Full Circle Esquiline & Quirinal) and the Rademaker (based on his Aventine MKII prototype design). The Brigid variant appears to be based on an early study model built during pre-production of Star Trek: Voyager. The Caelian variant is an unique design based off of the game's Intelligence ships created for Delta Rising.
