In Klingon mythology, Sto-vo-kor is the afterlife for the honored dead, guarded by Kahless the Unforgettable. There, warriors fight an eternal battle against great enemies.
To enter Sto-vo-kor, a warrior must die honorably in battle, or while performing a heroic deed. Upon the death, others would watch over the body to keep away predators, allowing the spirit to leave for Sto-vo-kor (a ritual known as the ak'voh).
Missions mentioned
“Duties of Command”: The player must inform Ch'gren of Doran passage to Sto-vo-kor.
“The House Always Wins”: Worf performs the ak'voh for M'ven, sending his spirit to Sto-vo-kor.
“Afterlife”: The player discovers Jurlek on the Barge of the Dead heading towards Gre'thor who had hoped for an opportunity to redeem himself before the player killed him. The player rallies him and the others to battle to reclaim their honor, with Jurlek helping to open the gates.
“Surface Tension”: J'mpok announces the many warriors who have entered Sto-vo-kor following the battle of Earth and Qo'noS against the Undine during the ceasefire with the Federation in the Great Hall.
“Leap of Faith”: Gowron is encountered by the player, accompanied by General Martok and Matriarch J'Ula, in Koth, or "the void", a place for those denied entry to either Gre'thor or Sto-vo-kor. His personal honor satisfies his entry to Sto-vo-kor, but the treacherous deeds of his grandfather, Aakar, denies it. He guides the team to Gre'thor, and when J'Ula is preparing to offer her soul to free that of L'Rell, Gowron offers his own instead, saying that he would rather be in the company of fellow Klingons, even in Gre'thor, than remain alone in the void. He is tangled in chains launched by Fek'lhr and Martok helps him up. Fek’lhr eventually accepts J’Ula’s offer of Aakar’s and J’mpok’s souls and Gowron would be free.
“A Day Long Remembered”: L'Rell announces the honored dead joining their ancestors in Sto-vo-kor during the celebration event two weeks following the fall of J'mpok in the Great Hall. With both Aakar and J'mpok defeated and sent to Gre'thor as promised, Fek'lhr releases Gowron from Gre'thor to Sto-vo-kor which pleases Martok greatly.
