Sonic's Diary is a feature in the second of The Official Sonic the Hedgehog Yearbooks. The eight short entries, written by "Sonic the Hedgehog", detail a typical week in the life of a hero and the futile attempts from Doctor Robotnik to capture Sonic.
One Week
The week begins with Sonic waking up early, having an "awesome run at Mach velocities" and destroying a couple of Badniks, saving two of his animal friends. The former organic batteries reveal that Robotnik is going to pay him a visit the next day. In anticipation, Sonic woke up even earlier on Tuesday and hid in a tree. As Robotnik rolled up in his Egg-o-Matic, Sonic jumped down and gives the tyrant a nasty headache, shouting that he will return on Wednesday! This he did, armed with a new sound machine so loud "its mega sound could knock you out". Instead of tackling this, Sonic ran away at the speed of sound, ready for tomorrow. Thursday came, with "Walrus Face" arriving while it was still dark. This time, Robotnik was accompanied by two Buzz Bombers with Badniks, but the stupid robots crashed into each other, confounding Robotnik for another day.
Friday arrived, with Sonic woke up after an hour's sleep by Robotnik's laugh. He had decided to dress up as Tails, but was obviously the fattest "Tails" Sonic had ever seen. One Spin Attack later and Robotnik was screaming vengenance. On Saturday, Sonic didn't sleep at all, instead waiting on a hill with elastic round his waist. When Robotnik returned, Sonic jumped on the Egg-O-Matic, repeatedly bouncing on it thanks to the elastic until the machine exploded. Running away crying, Robotnik was forced to build a new craft on Sunday, giving Sonic a perfect night's sleep!

Trivia
- The front cover of Sonic's Diary is a zoomed-in version of the Emerald Hill Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Sonic can even be seen rolling across a Mobius Strip.
- The artwork seems to be in the style of Carl Flint, although it isn't confirmed.
- Sonic writes his "z"s in the style of 3s, a particular handwriting quirk.
- The elastic trick makes no sense at all. Elastic around your chest will simply fit to your body size and definitely won't cause you to endless bounce.
- Sonic says he needs to buy new Sneakers. Not only has currency never been discussed in early media, but the question is posed where will he buy them from? In Sonic the Comic, Doctor Kintobor gave him his first pair, but has also been seen with a large stash of them.
