Ryo Hazuki is a young man hailing from Dobuita, Japan, and the protagonist of Shenmue.
In The Day The Snow Turned To Rain, the only Shenmue strip printed in Sonic the Comic Online to date, Ryo remembers the winter of 1986, when he witnessed his father being killed by Lan-Di for the dragon mirror. Ryo was brought down with a single blow to the back of the neck by one of Lan-Di's underlings and left alone with his dead father and the unknowing Ine-san. He blames himself for the incident, having spent too much time chatting to Nozomi when he should have come home sooner. Ryo noted that Lan-Di didn't even notice he was there, but vowed to himself that Lan-Di will eventually notice him, swearing vengeance.
