Out for a Spin is a complete Amy Rose story (under the banner of "Amy's Adventures") that first appeared in Issue 95 of Sonic the Comic. It was later reprinted in Issue 189.

Story
Amy Rose and Tekno the Canary are walking through the Emerald Hill Zone one day when they encounter a spinning top that has fallen from the Floating Island's Marble Garden Zone. Tekno takes it back to her workshop, with Amy keen to try it out once Tekno has repaired of it since she is jealous of Tails and Shortfuse the Cybernik. Sure enough, Tekno is successful and hands Amy a remote control to remove the need for kinetic energy.
Unfortunately, her flight is quickly interrupted by a patrol of EggRobos which are keen to kill her now she's airborne. Amy struggles to escape with her lack of flying experience and she is soon captured by an EggRobo with a cloaking device. The hedgehog is pulled off her top in mid-flight and her execution is imminent. However, they have let her keep her remote control, allowing her to pilot her vehicle right into the Badniks, completely destroying them. The top has also been obliterated, but she's thankful it saved her life. Winking to the readers, Amy supposes that one of the Freedom Fighters should keep their feet on the ground.
Trivia
- The Emerald Hill Zone is labelled as the Emerald Hill folk were evacuated in Issue 53. This isn't quite true, as the Freedom Fighters have just moved into Tekno's workshop.
- Birds in the Zone resemble birds from Planet Earth.
- Amy explains that Sonic flew around the Marble Garden Zone, with Megadroid confirming that Sonic did this during Sonic the Hedgehog 3. The events of this game are different to those in STC's Sonic 3 & Knuckles story arc. As such, Sonic was never seen on a top in Sonic the Comic, making Amy's comment odd.
- When discussing flying heroes, Amy doesn't mention Tekno (although she may not have seen her fly, yet).
- EggRobos made their last appearance in the print comic.
- Egg puns made infamous under Mark Millar's tenure returned as spoken by the EggRobos.
Timeline
