The Corpselands are an area near Yuria in The Legend of the Golden Axe and seems to be one large graveyard. Dark Guld was buried there after the events of video game Golden Axe II but was exhumed and rebuilt by Sorcerer Blackspell. After capturing Tyris-Flare, Blackspell took her to the Corpselands in order to sacrifice her and resurrect Guld near his tomb, but Tyris narrowly escaped before the ritual was complete. With the plan thwarted, Tyris commandeered the Golden Axe and fought off Blackspell's minions, while Ax-Battler and Gilius-Thunderhead made their way in, making light work of Ul-Tima and her skeleton army.
Inside Guld's tomb, Guld required a body to survive, so merged himself with Blackspell's, the reaction causing the mountain to explode. With the battle getting hectic, Ax used his magic to get rid of the henchmen, while Tyris used her strongest fire attack on Guld, but to no avail. His response was to turn into a two-headed eagle and fly away with Ax in order to finish the spell. The party moved from the Corpselands to the volcano of Firedrake Fell.
