Bears are mammals that live on Mobius and Planet Earth. They come in several varieties but all are extremely vicious. They are often characterised as fierce wild animals that approach travellers in their territory, although there have been cases where bears are shown more positively.

Bears have been seen in several Sonic the Comic stories, although many are just organic batteries released from Badniks. There are a few more notable bears:

• Metamorphia's final form after her powers were stolen happened to be a bear. It bore some resemblance to the identity she adopted in her first appearance.

• Teddy Gormless is a bear from the Marble Zone.

• Smokey is a young bear from the Metropolis Zone who has befriend a rogue Roller Badnik.

• Cinnamon, one of the Spice Maidens, is a bear.

• A suited bear from the Eldorado Zone captures Tails and demands a reward.

• Winston is a teddy bear created by Professor Frank N. Stein's Clone-O-Matic.

• Witless Chris pretended he battled six bears before breakfast every day, confirming that bears exist in the Nameless Zone.
