Amulets are traditionally items that are worn to bring good luck to the wearer and provide symbolism for many religions. In Sonic the Comic, pendants are often on the ends of necklaces that have varying benefits for the holder. Shion was given an amulet by Baila in a Smuggler's Tunnel which was capable of letting the Wonder Boy breathe underwater and talk to marine life such as Lauren and Hardy.
On Mobius, Sonic the Hedgehog and Tails encountered an amulet on their Hallowe'en visit to The Haunted Zone. Under a trance, Sonic was handed the Charm of Despair that would allow him to move to the Underworld at midnight. Fortunately, Tails realised just in time and pulled the amulet off Sonic's neck before it took him.
