Yeast

Yeast was a type of rising agent. Wine was made by fermenting fruit or other vegetation with a rising agent, usually yeast, but fungi could also be used.^[1] Yeast-worm jelly was a dish served at the luxurious Canto Casino Hotel on the planet Cantonica.^[2]
