The Urchiv-ki were a sentient species from the Unknown Regions planet Urch. The Urchiv-ki's nation was the Tower Dimension, one of several governments under the control of General Yiv and the Nikardun Destiny, the Hegemony of the Nikardun species,[1] in 19 BBY.[2] The Urchiv-ki's government was later released from Nikardun control after Chiss Senior Captain Mitth'raw'nuruodo, whose core name was "Thrawn," defeated Yiv with help from the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet. The Urchiv-ki were very proud of their art galleries, which Thrawn wished to visit as he enjoyed studying art. The species also had a treaty with the Chiss, which allowed diplomatic meetings and relations.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Urchiv-ki appeared in the 2020 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Chaos Rising, the first volume in the Star Wars: Thrawn Ascendancy Trilogy written by Timothy Zahn.[1]
