- "These herbivorous herd animals are related to fathiers, bordoks, tris, and pulgas."
- ―From the journal of Ardis San Tekka
Tris were a type of riding beast[2] related to orbaks, non-sentient grassland herbivores found on planets across the galaxy. Orbaks were also related to fathiers, bordoks, and pulgas. Galactic Society of Creature Enthusiasts Director of Creature Cartography Ardis San Tekka mentioned tris in an entry on orbaks in her journal[1] at some point after the Battle of Exegol in 35 ABY.[3]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, tris were first mentioned in the 2019 reference book Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo.[2] Tris originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where they were first mentioned in Planets of the Galaxy, Volume Three, a 1993 Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game supplement written by John Terra and published by West End Games.[4]
