Silk was a material that was found in the galaxy. Aric Nightdrifter had a fan made of silk.[3] Silk could also be used to make clothing,[1] and came in a number of types, such as Sleedaran silk,[1] Cantonican golden silk,[4] Onderon silk,[5] Bardottan silk,[6] Karlini silk,[7] shimmersilk, Aeien silk, and durasilk.[8] Count Dooku owned a pair of exquisite pajamas that were made from only the finest silks.[9]
Silk was also produced by ginnthos, who used it to trap prey.[10]
