Pip-Squeak was a MSE series droid.[1] Some point before 3 ABY,[2] Pip-Squeak was given to the son of a female engineer by a Rodian known as "The Toymaker", an alias used by Gedeek Obaz while he was working for the Galactic Empire on Akiva, a planet in the Outer Rim.[1] By 3 ABY,[2] the son had died and Pip-Squeak was one of the few things the mother had left of their son.[1] During the same year, Pip-Squeak stopped turning on and the mother went to Myrra, the capital city of Akiva, to ask the Toymaker to fix Pip-Squeak. However the Toymaker's shop had been closed when they got there.[1]

While asking around if anyone knew how to repair a droid the mom was approached by a human named Kay Vess. Initially Vess suggested that they could just replace the mouse droid since it would be pretty cheep but the parent explained the sentimental value of the droid. Vess then suggested that another droid smith could repair the droid, but the parent stated that the other droid vendors were near the hutt district in Myrra and that they were afraid to go there, but instead asked if Vess would be willing to go there for them and gave her the broken Pip-Squeak. Later when approaching a droidsmith in district fixing the droid she learned that the Toymaker was her friend Gedeek Obaz and that she would need his help to fix the droid. Vess proceeded to contract Obaz who wasn't able to help her at the moment but instead directed her to a Rodian acquaintance of his in the Myrra market who was ultimately able to fix it Pip-Squeak. To thank Vess for her help the mother gave her a Canto Pass game piece called The Claw.[1]

Behind the scenes

Pip-Squeak appeared in the 2024 video game, Star Wars Outlaws, developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft. It is part of the optional intel quest "Missing Toymaker" on Akiva. The Claw that is rewarded for completing the quest can be used to customize the appearance of the player's S57 Cardinal speeder bike as well as the player's starship, the Trailblazer.[1]
