Orchids were a type of colorful[3] flower. The rain forest of Yavin 4 notably hosted a species of bioluminescent orchids.[1] Orchids also grew in the jungles of the Outer Rim planet Akiva. The flowers could be kept in pots as decoration.[2]

Queen Breha Organa of Alderaan planted Malastarian orchids and eventually her daughter Prince Leia Organa learned how to care for orchids so that they sent forth pale pink blooms.[4]
