Biography

Early life to joining the Arena

Nox was born in small village on Iridonia. During her childhood, her home was attacked by an mysterious group of assailants who abducted her sister, forcing Nox to flee. In the wilderness, she dedicated herself to rigorous, both to ensure her survival and to prepare for eventual retribution. She became skilled in synthesizing poisons from acid pools and developed exceptional skill with a bow. Her abilities eventually attracted the attention of the Order of the Night Wind, an elite organization of assassins that later inducted her into their ranks. Nox ultimately departed from the Order to enter the Arena, seeking to leverage its public exposure to secure leads and resources that would aid in locating her missing sister.[3]

Shortly after joining the Hunters of the Outer Rim, Nox was given a tour by the Arena's sponsor, Balada the Hutt, who showed off to Nox a rare specimen in her collection: a though-to-be-extinct Antarean butterfly.[4]

Tensions rise

When Nox arrived at the Arena, she began butting heads with the other Hunters. During a training session, Nox avoided her compatriots, preferring to train alone. Fellow Hunter Rieve eventually went to speak with Nox as she was practicing headshots on a group of training droids with her Wild Bow. Rieve suggested that Nox train with the rest of them. Nox's cool response nearly sparked a fight with Rieve until other Hunters pulled her away.[5]

Nox was interviewed by one of the Arena's announcers, the Dowutin, Boz Vega. She surprised Vega by revealing her past as a Night Wind Assassin and by her offhanded dismissal of fellow Hunter Rieve's skills. At Vega's prompting, Nox explained her battle strategy and weaponry. Her casual description of the destruction of her village and the kidnapping of her sister left Vega unnerved as the interview came to its end.[6]

When Rieve learned of Nox's comments towards her, she was not pleased. Rieve confronted her at the Training Ground and the two battled briefly until Grozz pulled Rieve away from Nox. When things calmed down, Nox approached Rieve with a compliment, and the two began discussing battle strategy. Rieve invited Nox to a team social, but Nox rudely rejected her offer of friendship, nearly sparking another fight before Arena co-owner Daq Dragus intervened, telling them to settle their score in the Arena.[7]

Competitions with Rieve and Velaar

Nox and Rieve eventually went head-to-head in a spar, in which Nox was victorious. Boz Vega then interviewed her after the challenge, where Nox admitted that it was a good fight, but claimed to be the true assassin of the Arena, and dismissed the idea of friendship with her colleagues.[8] Despite her disdain for comradeship, Nox soon began spending time with Rieve, training discreetly after hours, and dining together in the chow room. However, when Miraluka marksman Diago Velaar commented that Nox had found friends, she angrily denied it and stormed off, narrowly avoiding crushing a nearby mouse droid. Rieve rushed after her, explaining that not only was Velaar harmless, but he was also likeable. Nox disagreed and insisted that her friendship with Rieve was also a mistake before stalking off.[9]

Velaar soon approached Nox to apologize for upsetting her, acknowledging that he had not accounted for their different approaches to relationships when he spoke with her in the chow room. Nox accepted his apology, also acknowledging that she was unused to having friends. Velaar challenged Nox to a shooting competition, which the latter Nox accepted.[10] Nox later lost the challenge, though in a subsequent interview with the announcer droid L-X1, Velaar spoke highly of the Zabrak.[11]

After the competition, Nox and Velaar began training together. In the Training Ground, Nox awkwardly greeted Rieve, who acknowledged her, but was clearly in a bad mood about something. Suddenly, Balada and Daq Dragus arrived, announcing that Balada's prized tiara had been stolen from her chambers. They offered a reward for the capture of the thief, hinting that this may have something to do with a new Hunter who would be arriving shortly.[12]

Nox first appeared in the canon video game Star Wars: Hunters, which was developed by NaturalMotion's BossAlien and published by Zynga globally on June 4, 2024.[13] However, the Zabrak made her in-game debut through the start of the game's fourth season, released on November 26, 2024.[14] The concept artist Julia Guljar was responsible for designing the character.[15]
