Mattberry

The mattberry was a type of berry found on the moon Endor.[1] By 4 ABY,[2] juicy mattberries grew alongside ferns and tree palms on the forest floor beneath Bright Tree Village, a treetop Ewok settlement on Endor. The Ewoks would sometimes come down to ground level to forage for fruits and berries.[1]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, mattberries were mentioned in the 2016 reference book Star Wars: Complete Locations.[1] The berries originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where they were first mentioned in Galaxy Guide 5: Return of the Jedi, a 1990 supplement written by Michael Stern for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[3]
