Leebsie-lurkers were a type of insect found on the desert planet Tatooine. They could be brown in color and had a three-part, segmented body with three pairs of jointed legs, and a pair of antennae.[1] In 22 BBY,[2] a leebsie-lurker had taken up residence inside the Zephyr-G swoop used by the moisture farmer Owen Lars around his family's farm on Tatooine. The insect sat above the swoop's frontal sand-grille and ate insects that became splattered in the grille and filters.[1]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, a leebsie-lurker was first mentioned in the 2018 reference book Star Wars: Complete Vehicles. It was part of material reprinted[3] from the 2002 reference book Star Wars: Attack of the Clones Incredible Cross-Sections, which was written by Curtis Saxton, illustrated by Hans Jenssen and Richard Chasemore, and marked the creature's first mention in the Star Wars Legends continuity.[4]
