- "Keep each movement tight yet subtle. Diminish areas of vulnerability. Maximize your defenses without need to strike."
- ―Lakshay to Jedi trainees
Lakshay was a human Jedi Master who lived during the High Republic Era. In 132 BBY, he oversaw a class of Padawans training in lightsaber combat in the Jedi Temple on the planet Coruscant, asking the students Daro and Rena to stay behind and show their opening stances at the end of the class.
Biography
- "That's our time. Daro, Rena, I want to see your opening stance before you leave."
- ―Lakshay

Lakshay was a Force-sensitive human member of the Jedi Order during the High Republic Era.[1] In 132 BBY,[3] he[2] held the rank of Jedi Master and oversaw a class of seven[1] Padawans[2] as they trained[1] in lightsaber combat with wooden bokken sabers[2] in a training room in the Jedi Temple on[1] the planet[4] Coruscant. As the group practiced, Lakshay walked between them and gave instructions on movement, advising the students to reduce their areas of vulnerability and maximize their defenses with tight and subtle movements but without needing to strike.[1]
As the Padawans finished their routine,[2] a chime sounded, and Lakshay announced the end of the session. Tucking away their weapons, the class bowed to the Jedi Master, who returned the gesture and then asked the students Daro and Rena to remain behind and show their opening stances. Former Jedi Verosha Aniseya, who had watched Lakshay lead the class, stopped the Padawan Jecki Lon as she left the Jedi Master's classroom, and the pair spoke in the doorway as Lakshay worked with Daro and Rena.[1]
Personality and traits
Lakshay had light skin, red hair, and hazel eyes.[1]
Equipment
While training the Padawans, Lakshay wore a set of white and gold Jedi temple robes with a brown belt on which hung his silver-hilted lightsaber.[1]
Behind the scenes
Lakshay was portrayed by Paul Bullion and first appeared in "Day,"[1] the fourth episode of the live-action television series The Acolyte, which aired June 18, 2024, on Disney+.[5] The scenes in the Jedi Temple were shot at Shinfield Studios,[6] England.[7] Prior to the release of the episode, the character was revealed in a trailer exclusively shown at Celebration Europe[8] during the Lucasfilm Studio Showcase on April 7, 2023.[9] Lakshay was then identified in a promotional asset linked to the show that was released by Walt Disney Studios via Getty Images on April 25, 2024.[10]
